The Ibero-American Architecture and Urbanism Biennial (BIAU) is an initiative of the Government of Spain, consolidated as one of the fundamental references to know the current and prospective situation of architecture and urbanism in the Ibero-American community.

The basic activities of the Biennial revolve around the recognition of professional careers and significant works of architecture; to highlight the best publications in the sector; to reward the most outstanding research works or the best ideas of architects and architecture students through competitions.
